ビーチと歴史と伝統音楽の宝庫ギリシア

ビーチが奇麗で空いているという点、伝統音楽が残され土地の人が今も楽しんでいる点でもギリシアは他の地中海諸国（イタリアやスペイン）を凌ぎます。

しかし何と言ってもその歴史が西洋文明の恩恵に預かっている現代人にとって、圧倒的に深い意味を持っています。というのも西洋の思想や芸術の源は紀元前の古代ギリシアの想像力に遡るからで、ルネッサンスも産業革命もその申し子と言えます。ビーチで泳いだ後、遺跡を目にすれば何故この国で？と言う疑問が湧きます。自分はこの疑問に納得できる答えを探す旅を続けています。

さてオリンピックから数年経った今、メデイアでギリシアのリゾートが取り上げられる機会は減りました。しかも言葉が判りにくい、直行便がない、世界的に著名なミコノス島とサントリーニ島以外のインフラが未整備などなど商業的人気が今ひとつであっても良い場所と善い考え方を紹介するのがGH.web！、、、マニアックになりすぎないように気をつけながら、連載でギリシアのベスト20を今年一杯で紹介していこうと思います。ギリシアには二千とも言われる島が有りますがその中でも経済的文化的にギリシアの心臓と言われるクレタ島から始めましょう。

日没の写真）サントリーニ島北端のイアは日没ウオッチのスポットとして世界的に有名になりやや過密状態だが自然のドラマは価値変わらない。クレタ島一番人気の歌い手バシリキ師はドスの利いた美声で披露宴に集まった男衆を文字通りHighに導く。クレタ島イラクリオン博物館にある獅子頭部の彫刻は紀元前三千年前のものと思えない完成度で我が目を疑う程のレアリズム。クレタ島東端のSitiaから行ける浜は空港から遠い為いずれも驚く程空いていて満点に近い評価をつけたい。
